Expanded sheets

The expanded sheets are created by slitting and stretching the steel without any loss of material, this creates inseparable connections in the meshes. Expanded sheets are distributed as a table or roll.

It can be used as a decorative element, guard, air-filter, sewage filter, protective grating, shelf, rack, basket, walking surface, room-divider, fence, and it can be used in other different structures and equipment.

1. Material quality

Standard material quality:

S 235JR steel plate to MSZ EN standard
Ai 99,5 semi-solid steel plate

Plates of any other quality can be used, if the material tolerates the resulting stretching without any cracking or tearing. This should be verified by a manufacturing test. For expanded plates of non standard material quality, the customer should provide the manufacturer with the necessary raw materials.

2. Surface

The surface of the expanded plates meets the standard requirements of the used materials and the manufacturing process.

3. Dimensions

The client should submit the size requirements based on the attached standard list.

Plates expanded from material of quality described in point 1.1 usually have the following manufacturing limits:

Cold-rolled: 0,5 - 2,0 mm
Hot-rolled: 2,2 - 4,0 mm
the starting plate size is uniformly 1000 x 2000 mm,
the shape of the mesh is shown on diagram 1., the mesh length (p) is parallel to the height of the starting table plate.

4. Dimensional tolerance and formal requirements

Mesh length (p) tolerance: ± 3%
Mesh width (ü) tolerance: ± 10%
Feeding (t) tolerance: ± 10%
Plate length (Í) tolerance: ± 10%
Plate thickness (v) and width tolerance according to the specifications of the standard for the raw material.
Straightness (k) maximum 30 mm / 1000 mm
Waviness: up to 2,5 mm plate thickness maximum 30 mm, above that 25 mm.

5. Delivery state

The expanded plates are not hear-treated after the cold moulding.

6. Bundling, packaging

The expanded plates should be transported flat bundled, or rolled up, secured against loosening with a binding-wire.

7. Marking

Every batch should be labeled, the label should contain:

the name of the client,
the plate sizes,
the mesh size,
quantity.

The finished sizes are for 1000 x 2000 mm starting size!

Manufacturing is carried out according to MSZ 0533.2306T/84. The finished product will be cut up if the raw material is thicker than Lv2. In extreme cases we can deviate from these finished sizes, but this requires preliminary consultation! The quality of the raw materials: cold rolling: St 12-03 according to DIN 1623-82 up to Lv 2,0 plates, hot rolling: S 235 JRG2 according to EN 10025-93 for Lv2-Lv4 plates.
